Hello kitten friends! Let's see if we can make the kitten cam work.
If you enjoy the kitten content, a small contribution to cover hosting fees is always welcome.
Please note that the family resides my only bathroom, so there are times when the feed is on privacy mode.
Please meet Katie and the kittens! Katie was a stray at an apartment complex who couldn't be caught and just kept having litter after litter of kittens who also turned into street cats. My coworker stepped up and has started getting the cats there TNR'd (trap, neuter, return), and I said if they could catch Katie I'd be happy to foster her until she had the babies and they all grew up.
Last Tuesday the surprised her at mealtime and by the end of lunch she was safely in the bathroom. She was pettable but not hadleable as a street cat, but has turned into a very loving companion in the last 10 days. This was about 90 minutes after she was pictured above:
Unfortunately, two weren't nursing. It turned out they had cleft palate and would not be able to nurse without significant help (tube feeding until they could have surgery at 4 months old). Those two were taken on by a veterinary office who is equipped for the specialty care. The other 5 babies are doing great and mama is thriving along with them.
Everyone is gaining weight daily, growing soft fur and the eyes are even starting to open.
We're going with a fountain pen theme for the babies. The two with classic tabby pattern (circles on the side) are Sailor and Pilot, and the three with spots/dashes tabby pattern are Kaweco, TWSBI and Lamy.
